The club Schwarze Tulpe is located in Hilchenbach on the road to Erndtebrück.
Hilchenbach lies at 360 m above sea level, idyllically nestled between the hills of the Siegerland in the southwestern part of the Rothaargebirge, and is situated around 20 km northeast of Siegen. The town is first mentioned in 1292 in a deed of donation from Countess Agnes of Nassau and her eldest son Heinrich to the Keppel monastery. In 1625, as a result of an inheritance division, the village of Hilchenbach was elevated to the residence of Count Wilhelm of Nassau-Siegen-Hilchenbach. His brother's nephew, Count Wilhelm Moritz of Nassau-Siegen, began in 1682 to set up a summer residence in Hilchenbach, and in this context the village was raised to the status of a "Flecken" (market town) on 1 May 1687. On 24 May 1824 the Flecken was granted town rights. On 1 January 1969, the Amt Keppel (known as Amt Hilchenbach until 1917) was dissolved, and the associated municipalities of Altenbach, Dahlbruch, Grund, Hadem, Helberhausen, Lützel, Müsen, Oberndorf, Öchelhausen, Ruckersfeld and Vormwald were merged in the course of the territorial reform to form the new town of Hilchenbach.
Worth seeing in Hilchenbach and the surrounding area are the ruins of the Ginsburg, the Gillerturm observation tower built in 1892 with a beautiful view over the Rothaargebirge and Siegerland, and the former Premonstratensian convent of Keppel, one of the Siegerland's most important baroque gems.
Between the districts of Dahlbruch and Allenbach lies the Breitenbachtalsperre, whose reservoir supplies water to the Siegerland. It offers numerous opportunities for hiking.
