German FKK and Sauna Clubs

In January 2015, "therichest.com" published an article about the 10 most popular sex tourism destinations in the world. The article lists:

  1. Thailand
  2. Netherlands (Amsterdam)
  3. Mexiko (Tijuana)
  4. Japan
  5. Kenya
  6. India (Sonagachi)
  7. Costa Rica
  8. Israel (Tel Aviv)
  9. Indonesia
  10. Germany

The article states: "Germany is known for many things including its great beer tradition, its Nazi past and its legalized prostitution. The Germans are very open when it comes to sex, and don't find anything special about having brothels where 'gentlemen' pay for sex."

It is not surprising that exotic countries like Kenya, Indonesia and Thailand as well as hot spots of worldwide paysex like Amsterdam, Tijuana and Tel Aviv appear in this list. What is surprising, however, is that Germany is the only country in the western world that seems to be worth a closer look when it comes to brothels. There is sex for money all over the world, at least on an informal level. In many countries prostitution is officially forbidden, but is tacitly tolerated; in other countries prostitution is allowed, but brothels are forbidden. In Germany, on the other hand, there are brothels of all kinds, prostitution is legal and widespread in this country, and love for sale is comparatively cheap, which sometimes leads to absurd conditions in European comparison. Nowhere is this more evident than on the Franco-German border. While in France - a country that is absolutely comparable to Germany in cultural, political and economic terms - people are thinking about adopting the Swedish prostitution model, in which clients are given severe sanctions, in Saarbrücken, just across the border, the first large German sauna club - the Paradise - is already warmly welcoming its French guests.

In Germany, prostitution thrives in all its creative and sometimes bizarre facets: walk-in brothels, red light quarters, walk-in streets, street prostitution, apartments, private houses, phone sex, domina dungeons, escort service, hobby whores, money slavery, party meetings, night clubs, table dance bars, sex cinemas, adult parties as well as former flat-rate brothels and gangbang parties form a potpourri of different playgrounds, where the inclined and horny guest can live out hot sex in all shades against payment, without being exposed in any appreciable way to police persecution or social restrictions. There is no other western country where this is the case, and word of it has already spread to other countries.

FKK clubs und sauna clubs "Made in Germany"

A special variety of the German brothel culture are the German FKK clubs and sauna clubs. What you have to imagine under "German FKK" has long been a commonplace among paysex customers all over the world. For foreigners, the German word "Freikörperkultur" (nudism) is nothing more than an incomprehensible tongue twister, which would not be a great success as a crystallization point for dealing with German customs - if its acronym FKK were not representative of a groundbreaking brothel concept.

The concept of FKK-Club or Saunaclub is actually not difficult to understand: A man goes to a more or less neatly managed establishment, pays an adequate entrance fee in the order of 50 EUR, is assigned a locker and a bathrobe and can move around the facility all day long without being bothered, use the spa facilities, relax and let himself be fed, partying and partying deep into the night is often included. Everything easy, everything relaxed. So much for the hardware. Well, and then there are the female guests of the club - the club service providers, called "Clubdienstleisterinnen" (CDL) in German jargon - i.e. the software of the house. In the larger FKK and sauna clubs, on peak days, certainly 50-100 girls gather to offer sexual services on interest. There is something for every male desire. You can take your time to view the offer - WYSIWIG, What You See Is What You Get. Anyone who has ever searched for sex for money on the basis of advertisements in relevant magazines or on the internet and was subsequently annoyed by fake photos or Photoshop manipulated pics, which at best showed a vague resemblance to the advertising lady, knows that this is a value in itself. Prices are negotiated individually on site and are moderate, especially in international comparison, because Germany is a paysex buyer's market. And rip-off is largely unknown.

This was not always the case in Germany either. As late as the 80s, visitors to a brothel were regularly confronted with sentences like "Baby, don't you even want to invest a little more? Those who denied it were usually "dispatched" with a very slimmed-down performance, which occasionally amounted to a total refusal to perform. The risk of being cheated or fobbed off with minimal service was comparatively high. Those who liked it a little more dignified went to a night club where convivial ladies blatantly showed their thirst for champagne and the guest's money. Three things have changed since then:

  • The fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 triggered an unprecedented immigration of Eastern European women, who offer their services as prostitutes especially in Germany.
  • The Internet has provided enormous transparency. Paysex customers from all over the world are now much more enlightened than before the Internet age.
  • In 2002, the Prostitution Act in Germany gave the go-ahead for FKK clubs and sauna clubs to spring up like mushrooms.

FKK clubs and Saunaclubs "Made in Germany" are a phenomenon of the German language area, especially a German phenomenon. In Austria and Switzerland, FKK clubs and sauna clubs are also widespread, but prices in these countries are noticeably higher due to purchasing power and supply. The two Dutch sauna clubs listed on www.freierverkehr.com are located directly on the German border and belong de facto to the German catchment area. And it is no coincidence that they are located in a region that is immediately adjacent to the Lower Rhine & Ruhr area where most sauna clubs are concentrated.
