The club New Blue-Up is located in Pfäffikon, northwest of the train station.
Here we're talking about Pfäffikon in the canton of Zürich in the Zürcher Oberland, not to be confused with Pfäffikon SZ in the canton of Schwyz.
Pfäffikon lies on the northern shore of the Pfäffikersee at 540 m above sea level and is located about 28 km east of Zürich-Stadt. It's easily reached via the A53 motorway and the Pfäffikon ZH train station. The municipality of Pfäffikon includes Auslikon, Ober Balm, Unter Balm, Bussenhausen, Irgenhausen, Oberwil, Sulzberg, Hermatswil, Schür, Wallikon, Rick, Ravensbühl, Faichrüti and Rutschberg.
In medieval times, the Lords of Breitenlandenberg and the Counts of Kyburg were in charge. From 1424, Pfäffikon belonged to the Zürich state association. The salt trade played a decisive role back then, and Pfäffikon was granted market rights during this period. In the age of industrialisation, important Pfäffikon companies emerged in the textile industry. In 1876 the town was connected to the railway network. The former village has kept pace with developments in the working world in modern times and today is home to a variety of businesses in the industrial and service sectors.
The landscape around the Pfäffikersee is a nature reserve. At the nearby Badi am See, you'll find a lakeside bathing area with children's playgrounds, a restaurant, a sun terrace and a sauna. There's also a boat rental here. Popular in town is the Pfäffiker Seequai, where people stroll and chat, and where events take place regularly. In Pfäffikon-Irgenhausen you'll find the Römerkastell Irgenhausen, a Roman fort dating from the 3rd/4th century AD that stands under federal protection. It is one of the finest and best-preserved Roman structures in Eastern Switzerland.
