The club DIlaila is located in Gontenschwil.
Gontenschwil is a municipality in the district of Kulm in the Swiss canton of Aargau. It lies at 533 m above sea level, about 50 km southwest of the city of Zurich. The town lies in the Sagenbachtal valley of the Wyna and consists of the districts Unterdorf, Kirchdorf and Oberdorf. Gontenschwil can be reached via the main road 23 and the Gontenschwil railway station.
In the Middle Ages the village lay within the sphere of rule of the Counts of Lenzburg, and from 1173 within that of the Counts of Kyburg. After their line died out, the Habsburgs became the new territorial lords in 1264. In 1415 the Confederates conquered Aargau; Gontenschwil then belonged to the subject territory of the city of Bern, the so-called Bernese Aargau. In March 1798 the French marched into Switzerland and proclaimed the Helvetic Republic. Since then Gontenschwil has belonged to the canton of Aargau.
In this traditionally rural region, the processing of cotton dominated economic life in the 18th and 19th centuries. In 1905 an aluminium foundry was established in the disused Lochmühle in Hinterdorf, from which the Alu Menziken Group later emerged. Today a small industrial area exists near the railway station.
