The club FKK Mach III is located in Nürnberg-Mooshof.
As the venue for the NSDAP Reichsparteitage, the site where the Nürnberger Gesetze were proclaimed, and the location of the Nürnberger Prozesse, the once magnificent medieval city has attained sad world fame. If you wander today in the shadow of the mighty Kaiserburg through the rebuilt medieval old town with its historic mile amid the city fortifications and its bridges over the Pegnitz, you recognise, despite the destruction of the war, after just a few steps what incomparable beauty this city must once have possessed.
The Franconian metropolis is today the second-largest city in the Freistaat Bayern; besides the historic castle, which ranks among the most significant fortifications in Europe both historically and architecturally, its trademarks include the Christkindlmarkt, the Germanisches Nationalmuseum and the Spielwarenmesse. The city was a residence of many emperors; Karl IV. issued the Goldene Bulle here in 1356. In the 15th century, Nürnberg, together with Köln and Prag, was among the largest cities in the Holy Roman Empire.
On 07.12.1835, the first German railway ran between Nürnberg and Fürth. In the wake of this historic event, the city became an important industrial centre in the 19th and 20th centuries. Unfortunately, over the course of more recent history Nürnberg has lost, wholly or in large part, a number of notable companies that were based here, such as Hercules and Zündapp as representatives of the once-renowned Nürnberger motorcycle industry, as well as MAN, Triumph-Adler, AEG, the Fürther Quelle GmbH and DHL. Today, companies based in Nürnberg include the Optical Center of Excellence of Alcatel-Lucent, the Nürnberger Versicherung, DATEV, the Gesellschaft für Konsumforschung, as well as hotel.de and Immowelt. Furthermore, with the companies Prinovis and Schlott Gruppe AG, Nürnberg is also Germany's most important printing hub.
At present, Nürnberg is quite simply the city with the most sauna clubs to be found. Moreover, in the city centre behind the Frauentormauer lies one of the oldest red-light districts in Germany.
Nürnberg's well-known sons and daughters include Albrecht Dürer, Peter Henlein, Hans Sachs, Georg Philipp Harsdörffer, Martin Behaim, Anton Fugger, Johann Pachelbel, Theodor von Cramer-Klett, Sigmund Schuckert, Theo Schöller, Max Grundig, Hermann Zapf, Max Morlock, Madeleine Schickedanz, Hanns Zischler, Waldemar Hartmann, Dagmar & Hans Rudolph Wöhrl, Markus Söder, Marusha and Hannah Stockbauer.
