What to expect at FKK World Pohlheim/Gießen (D)

Anyone coming from the always well-filled car park and stepping through the imposing entrance area to FKK World becomes aware that they haven't stumbled into some small provincial club: FKK World, opened in 2003 with great fanfare, is the biggest sauna club there is, and naturally a club of superlatives. The club grounds include a huge car park and an equally large outdoor area, as well as extensive indoor facilities that offer guests everything you'd expect from a premium club, spread across two floors. The central meeting point is the very tastefully decorated large lounge, also known as the "departure hall", with its circular bar, from which there's direct access to changing rooms, showers and toilets, the dining hall, casino, cinema, VIP suite, and a staircase leading down to the outdoor grounds. On the lower floor you'll find a large indoor pool, whirlpool, fireplace room, relax bar with Sky TV, sauna, solarium, massage rooms and private rooms. The outdoor area, of course, also offers a large swimming pool, plus idyllic sunbathing lawns, log cabins, barbecue spots, beach club and beach volleyball. The club FKK World is located in Pohlheim-Garbenteich.

The large municipality and town of Pohlheim has been a merger of the municipalities of Garbenteich, Dorf-Güll, Grüningen, Hausen, Holzheim and Watzenborn-Steinberg since 01.01.1971. In 1974 it was granted town status. The name Pohlheim goes back to a settlement located centrally within the municipal area, which was lost during the Thirty Years' War. Further east adjoins the Vogelsberg low mountain range with the Hoher Vogelsberg nature park, considered the largest contiguous basalt massif in Europe.

Accessibility: The Nordhessischer Verkehrsverbund provides adequate transport connections. On the Lückebach (on the Lückenbach) is located the train station of Pohlheim-Garbenteich in Hessen.

Bus connections: Buses also depart from Pohlheim-Garbenteich. Bus line 372 leads to Berliner Platz in Gießen. The train station of this university metropolis can be reached by lines 372 and 375. The Hessenhalle Gießen can be reached by bus line 375. The village square of Pohlheim-Garbenteich is accessible by bus. The same line also runs to Lich. 376 is the bus number to reach Watzenborn-Steinberg. Line 377 serves Dorf-Güll, Eberstadt, Pfaffenhof, Lich and the sports field in Pohlheim-Garbenteich. The romantic town is conveniently reached by car via the Gießener Ring, with connections to long-distance traffic via the Bundesautobahnen A5 and A485.
