The club FKK Palace is located in Root.
Root is a municipality in the Luzern-Land electoral district of the canton of Lucerne. It lies at 422 m above sea level and about 10 km northeast of the city of Lucerne, and is easily reached via the A14 motorway and the Root railway station.
In the Middle Ages the village belonged to the Counts of Kyburg, later falling to the Habsburgs. In 1386 Lucerne took over rule. The municipality was traditionally shaped by agricultural and craft activity; today companies from the industrial and service sectors dominate. A major employer in Root is CPH Chemie + Papier Holding AG.
Root lies idyllically on the Reuss. The view of the distant Pilatus lends the Rontal plain a majestic expanse, and the banks of the Reuss or the nearby Rooterberg recreation area beckon with quick getaways. Hiking trails, forest and meadows are right around the corner in Root, and a spectacular view is on top of that.
In 2007, a huge maternity roost of Nathusius' pipistrelle bats was discovered in Root.
