The club FKK Venus is located in Hamminkeln right at the Hamminkeln train station.
Hamminkeln on the Issel is a town belonging to the county of Wesel. A large part of the town area lies within the Hohe Mark-Westmünsterland nature park. About 10 km west of the town centre flows the Rhine; the area in between is largely shaped by the lake landscape of the Bislicher Meer.
The region along the Issel was already known in Roman times; during the migration period around 350, the river formed the border between the Christian Franks to the west and the Saxons east of the river. Historically, the town belonged to the Duchy of Kleve. Since 1 January 1975, Hamminkeln has formed today's town of Hamminkeln together with Brünen, Dingden, Loikum, Mehrhoog, Ringenberg and Wertherbruch.
The town is easily accessible via the A57 motorway as well as via the two train stations Hamminkeln and Dingden, which lie on the Wesel-Bocholt railway line, and via the Mehrhoog train station on the Düsseldorf-Oberhausen-Arnhem railway line. Worth seeing in the Ringenberg district is the moated castle of the same name. Well-known employers in the town include the German clothing retail chain Bonita, the Feldschlösschen brewery founded in 1852, the van Nahmen KG fruit press, and the internationally known motorcycle manufacturer Thunderbike.
