What to expect at FKK Pascha Basel (CH)

The club FKK Basel is moving and will reopen on 20 November 2020 at the premises of Pascha Basel at Vogesenstrasse 137. - FKK Basel is an offshoot of the FKK Night & Day in Bürstadt, which opened this club back in 2010 in the centrally located Amerbachstraße in Basel. This very well organised operation is a sauna club without outdoor grounds, of compact and modest layout, which nevertheless enjoyed a flourishing business right from the start, because its pricing structure is unbeatably cheap by Swiss standards. Moreover, FKK Basel can present an exceptionally diverse ensemble of international women for a club of this size, who can also be booked for direct service. Special events with well-known party girls from the erotic industry take place regularly at FKK Basel. Parking is available in the underground car park belonging to the building, but arriving by train is recommended, since the club is a 5-minute walk from Basel Bad station. In 2013, a further partner club with the same concept, FKK Neuenhof, was opened.

A little Basel primer for non-Swiss: where should you head when arriving? International long-distance trains to the largest border station in Europe usually go to Basel SBB, the Centralbahnhof on Centralplatz on the left bank in Groß-Basel; attached to this station is Basel SNCF for regional trains to and from France. Regional trains to and from Germany, on the other hand, run via the Badischer Bahnhof on the right bank in Klein-Basel. But it doesn't really matter either way - in Basel you get from one place to another quickly.

Basel (French: Bâle) holds a key geographical position with regard to European transfer routes in rail traffic, shipping and motorway traffic (European routes 25 and 35). In the third-largest city in the land of the Swiss Confederation, companies such as Novartis, Hoffmann-La Roche, Basileo, Syngenta, Acino and Clariant - the entire elite of the chemical-pharmaceutical industry - have their headquarters; at the same time, practically all companies from the financial services sector based in Zurich operate a branch in Basel.

In what is today Augst, in the district of Liestal east of Basel-Stadt, the settlement of Colonia Augusta Rauricorum was established in Roman times in the year 44 BC, which the city of Basel took as an occasion to celebrate its 2000th birthday in 1957. The medieval and early modern history of Basel is marked by political conflicts, religious wars, plague epidemics, pogroms, witch persecutions and uprisings such as the "Böse Fasnacht" in 1376. In 1536, Johannes Calvin published his major work "Institutio Christianae Religionis" here, after Basel had already joined the Swiss Confederation as its eleventh member on 13 July 1501. At the Congress of Vienna in 1815, the former Prince-Bishopric of Basel was divided between Bern and Basel; after violent clashes, the surrounding communities broke away from Basel in 1832/33, giving rise to today's canton of Basel-Landschaft.

With its exposed location at the tripoint of Switzerland/Germany/France, the city is a guarantee of cultural diversity. Tourist attractions such as the old town, the tradition-rich hospitality industry, the Kunstmuseum, the Basel Fasnacht, Art Basel, Basel World and the Basel Autumn Fair, as well as the geographical proximity to the mountain ranges of the Black Forest, the Vosges and the Alps, ensure that Basel, alongside Zurich and Geneva, ranks among the cities with the highest quality of life worldwide.

Well-known sons and daughters of Basel include Jakob I. Bernoulli, Daniel Bernoulli, Leonhard Euler, Johann Peter Hebel, Matthäus Merian, Jacob Burckhardt, Arnold Böcklin, Friedrich Miescher, Auguste Piccard, Karl Barth, Arthur Cohn, Karl Alexander Müller, Urs Widmer, Rolf Martin Zinkernagel, Christian Kohlund, Marthe Keller, Dani Levy, Alexander Frei, Roger Federer and Sandra Speichert.
