The Club Olymp is located in Oberbuchsiten.
Oberbuchsiten is a municipality in the Gäu district of the canton of Solothurn and lies at 440 m above sea level. The box-tree-covered forests of Oberbuchsiten, which gave the place its name, were planted during Roman times. In Frankish times the region was called Buchsgau; in the eighth century AD it passed to the newly established Diocese of Basel. For roughly 500 years, various princely houses exercised the landgravial rights as vassals of the bishops.
In 1427 the cities of Solothurn and Bern acquired the Gäu. The entire Solothurn territory was divided into eleven bailiwicks in 1463 and governed uniformly, with Oberbuchsiten together with Oensingen, Kestenholz and Niederbuchsiten, and from 1540 with Wolfwil, forming the upper district of the Bechburg bailiwick. In 1669 the city bought the Gäu free from the landgravial overlordship of the Prince-Bishop of Basel for 20,000 guilders. Since 1798 the upper district of the former Bechburg bailiwick, together with the outer district of the then Falkenstein bailiwick (Egerkingen, Härkingen and Neuendorf), has formed the Gäu district.
The town can be reached via the A1 motorway and, for public transport, via the Oberbuchsiten railway station.
Oberbuchsiten is located roughly 75 km west of the city of Zürich.
