The Club 5. Element near Fulda is located in Eichenzell-Welkers.
The town of Eichenzell / Fulda lies on the river of the same name and in the district of the same name in the federal state of Hessen, around 10 kilometres south of the baroque showpiece city of Fulda, with which it is closely linked historically. With just under 11,000 inhabitants, it counts among the small towns and is well connected to the transport network. Besides bus connections within the town and to the neighbouring communities, including the district capital, Eichenzell/Fulda has a railway stop in the main town. Further railway stations in the municipal area of Eichenzell/Fulda are located in the districts of Welkers, Rönshausen and Lütters. Motorists reach the town via the A7 (Ellund-Füssen) and A66 (Wiesbaden-Fulda) motorways. For cycling tourists, the town is accessible via four long-distance cycle routes. Among these is the D1 cycle route, which runs from the North Sea to the Allgäu.
In Eichenzell/Fulda, on the edge of the Hessische Rhön nature park, holidaymakers will find a number of hotels such as the Landgasthof Kramer and the Landgasthof "Zum Schwarzen Roß". The Hotel "Zum Eichenzeller" also offers affordable rooms. As an alternative to accommodation in Eichenzell, a hotel room in the district capital Fulda is also an option.
The most magnificent sight in Eichenzell is Schloss Fasanerie, completed in 1757 on the eastern edge of the town centre, once the Electoral Hessian summer residence. It is considered the most beautiful baroque palace in Hessen and houses a museum, whose outstanding exhibits include the antiquities collection and an extensive porcelain collection. The town's landmark, on the other hand, is the former knight's residence Eichenzeller Schlösschen, built in the Renaissance style in 1548.
Until 1785, Eichenzell belonged to the parish of Florenberg. In today's municipal structure, since 1972 the districts of Büchenberg, Döllbach, Kerzell, Löschenrod, Lütter, Rönshausen, Rothemann and Welkers belong to the municipality alongside the main town of Eichenzell.
In the town centre, the interesting local history museum invites visitors to explore the history of the town in the foothills of the Rhön mountains.
In its Industriepark Rhön, Eichenzell operates a commercial area currently covering 120 ha, where more than 4,000 people work. In the near future, the industrial park is set to expand massively in line with the municipality's plans.
