What to expect at FKK Bernds Schieferhof Hennef (D)

Bernds FKK- & Saunaclub am Schieferhof in Hennef is regarded as the trailblazer and pioneer of all sauna clubs. Here, in the early 80s, a clearly defined club concept was developed that would set standards in the years to come: a fixed entry price, no hidden costs, no haggling, no piccolo-girl animation, wellness and catering included, long-stay visits welcomed, and a consistently first-class standard of service – these were the framework and foundations of the new concept, which proved to be extraordinarily successful. The so-called „Hofstandard“ was long considered unrivalled. Over all these years, Bernds Schieferhof has stayed true to itself and remains a fixture in the German sauna club landscape, with its own loyal following, even though a great number of more modern and larger clubs of the new generation have since established themselves. Towards birthday guests the club is generous, granting them a free ticket for their next visit.

The club FKK Bernds Schieferhof is located southeast of Hennef in the district of Lichtenberg.

Lichtenberg is one of no fewer than over 90 districts of the town of Hennef in NRW (Nordrhein-Westfalen), which also bears the nickname City of 100 Villages. Situated between the former municipality of Uckerath and Hüchel, Hennef-Lichtenberg presents itself as an attractive destination that delights with its scenic charms.

The journey to Hennef-Lichtenberg is made via the A3 to the Autobahnkreuz Bonn/Siegburg. Continuing on the A560 (Sieg/Altenkirchen), you carry on until the turn-off onto the B8. After an incline, a car dealership appears on the right, followed by a fork in the road onto Oberdorfstraße. On this road a signpost to Hennef-Lichtenberg can be seen.

By public transport, Hennef-Lichtenberg can be reached by bus (line 522). Alternatively, the express train station and the S-Bahn stop in Hennef, 5 kilometres away, are available for travel to Köln or Bonn. Another option for travelling within NRW is the S-Bahn stop in Blankenberg. The S-Bahns, buses and trains around Hennef-Lichtenberg run at intervals of between 30 and 60 minutes. Hennef-Lichtenberg is a restful place far from the noise and hustle of the city.

For overnight stays in Hennef-Lichtenberg, holiday flats, guesthouses, holiday rooms as well as hotels are available. In addition, there is a banquet hall at the Hotel Reuter, where club and company celebrations can be held. For dining, guests will find several restaurants. Numerous shopping opportunities in the form of boutiques and other shops can be found in the nearby neighbouring village of Uckerath, which is quickly reached.

Hennef lies charmingly nestled between the hill ranges of the Bergisches Land and the Westerwald, not far from the state border with Rheinland-Pfalz, in the mouth valley of the gently meandering Sieg shortly before it flows into the Rhine. The natural setting with quick connections to Bonn (20 km) and Köln (40 km) gives the town a high quality of life, which has also been discovered by figures from Köln's culture and media scene such as Wolfgang Petry, Ranga Yogeshwar, Maxi Biewer or Maite Kelly. The most important sights are the historic core of the town of Blankenberg, which belongs to Hennef, with the eponymous Burg Blankenberg from the 12th century and the parish church Sankt Katharina, as well as the Marian pilgrimage church Zur schmerzhaften Mutter Gottes from the 15th century in the district of Bödingen.
