Der Club Acapulco is located in Velbert-Mitte/Röttgen.
Velbert lies halfway between the Ruhr metropolis of Essen to the north and Wuppertal to the south. The proximity to the Krupp city favoured the settlement of metal-processing companies in Velbert during industrialisation, especially manufacturers of locks and fittings and numerous foundries. From the early 14th century until the beginning of the 20th century, Velbert was also predominantly home to ore mining, and towards the end also coal mining.
In its present form, the town of Velbert has existed since 1975, made up of the formerly independent towns of Langenberg, Neviges and Alt-Velbert. Worth seeing are the baroque former moated castle Hardenberg, the manor Rittergut Nierenhof, the historic town centres of Langenberg and Neviges, the Bismarckturm in Langenberg and the Dom zu Neviges, which is a pilgrimage church. Furthermore, with its elevated position on the foothills of the Bergisches Land between Ruhr and Wupper, Velbert has a very special scenic charm. This is especially true of the hinterland to the east of the town, and in particular the Felderbachtal in the Elfringhauser Schweiz, which can be reached via an inconspicuous access road behind the village of Nierenhof and which then unfolds over some 15 kilometres into a magnificent panoramic road all the way to Wuppertal-Oberbarmen, offering views over a hilly landscape one would never have thought possible in this region.
Due to its inaccessible geography, Velbert can only be reached quickly by car or by train (via the stations Nierenhof or Langenberg) from the north or the south.
