The Acapulco Club is located in Velbert centre/Röttgen.
Velbert lies halfway between the northern Ruhr metropolis of Essen and the southern city of Wuppertal. The proximity to the Krupp city has favored the settlement of metal processing companies in Velbert in the course of the industrialization, in particular manufacturers of locks and fittings and numerous foundries. From the early 14th century to the beginning of the 20th century, ore mining was the main activity in Velbert, but hard coal mining was also carried out in the end.
In its present form, the town of Velbert has consisted of the formerly independent towns of Langenberg, Neviges and old Velbert since 1975. Worth seeing are the baroque former moated castle Hardenberg, the knight's manor Nierenhof, the historical town centres of Langenberg and Neviges, the Bismarck tower in Langenberg and the cathedral of Neviges, which is a pilgrimage church. In addition, Velbert, with its high altitude at the foothills of the Bergisches Land low mountain range between the Ruhr and the Wupper rivers, is a particularly attractive landscape. This is especially true for the surrounding hinterland to the east of the city and in particular for the Felderbach valley of Elfringhauser Schweiz, which can be reached via an inconspicuous access road behind the village of Nierenhof and which then unfolds, on its way to Wuppertal-Oberbarmen, over about 15 kilometres into a magnificent panoramic road with a view of an elevated landscape never thought possible in this region.
Due to the unapproachable geography, quick access to Velbert both by car and by train (via the Nierenhof or Langenberg railway stations) is only possible from the north and south.
